Speed Checks in your area

Speed enforcement checks were carried out within your area on 24 July 2026. During these checks, a number of drivers were found to be travelling significantly above the posted speed limit and have been reported for prosecution.

Excessive speed remains one of the leading factors contributing to serious and fatal road traffic collisions. Calderdale Council and its partners are committed to improving road safety through the West Yorkshire Vision Zero Partnership, which aims to eliminate deaths and serious injuries on our roads. Speeding is identified as one of the key behaviours associated with serious collisions. 

Recent figures show that 48,597 speeding offences were recorded in Calderdale in 2024, highlighting the continuing need for driver compliance with speed limits across the district.
